SIMPLE SYRUP
Ingredients:
1c Water
1c Sugar
Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan. Heat on high, stirring occasionally until sugar is dissolved. Turn off heat and allow to cool before pouring transferring to a bottle or jar.
GRENADINE SYRUP
Ingredients:
1c Unsweetened Pomegranate Juice
1c Sugar
Combine juice and sugar in a small saucepan. Heat on high, stirring occasionally until sugar is dissolved. Turn heat to low and continue stirring occasionally for five minutes. Turn off heat and allow to cool before transferring to a bottle or jar.
SWEETENED LIME JUICE
Ingredients:
2c Unsweetened Lime Juice
1c (approximately) Sugar
1/2 tsp Cream of Tartar (optional)
1 drop blue food coloring
Pour lime juice into small saucepan. Heat on high until juice has been reduced by one-half (= 1 cup; pour from pan into glass measuring cup to check exact volume). Add sugar and stir until sugar is dissolved. Turn off heat and allow to cool. Add Cream of Tartar to help make liquid clear, and add food coloring; transfer to bottle or jar.
SWEET AND SOUR MIXER
Ingredients:
1/2c Simple Syrup (see above)
2c Unsweetened Lime Juice
2 Fresh limes
Combine liquids in a pitcher. Cut limes into quarters, squeeze into pitcher and drop the limes in.
